The Feast of Unleavened Bread is a feast to commemorate the suffering that the Israelites went through until they crossed the Red Sea in pursuit of the Egyptian army after they celebrated the Passover and came out of Egypt the next day (Lev 23:6; Exodus 14). This was prophetically fulfilled by Jesus as He was captured by a large crowd from the chief priests and suffered on the cross the day after He celebrated the Passover of the new covenant. In the Old Testament times the Israelites remembered their ancestors’ suffering by eating unleavened bread [bread without yeast] and bitter herbs. Likewise, in the New Testament time God’s people are to participate in the suffering of Christ by fasting as the Bible says, “The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day” (Mk 2:20; Luke 23; Dt 16:3).

Mother gave thanks to Father for having endured all the extreme pain and sacrifice to save His loving children. She also prayed that Her children would change beautifully, resembling Father in His spirit of love and sacrifice, and would joyfully devote themselves to the mission of saving the world.

General Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim gave a sermon about the holy sacrifice of Elohim embedded in the Feast of Unleavened Bread. In his sermon, he encouraged the members, “Let us inscribe the love and grace of Heavenly Father and Mother in our hearts and live a life of repentance with faith and holiness.” Then he urged them to fulfill the mission of ten talents to save souls, emphasizing, “It is right and proper to carry out the gospel work with gratitude to Elohim as Their children who have received life through Their sacrifice, and it is also an opportunity to repay Their grace” (Isaiah 53; 1 Th 2:2-4).

Inscribing the grace of Heavenly Father and Mother deep in their hearts, the members resolved to achieve complete repentance and change and to devote themselves to saving the world, so that God’s sacrifice would not be in vain.
