World Mission Society Church of God held dedication ceremonies for the five churches in Yeongnam such as Busan, Gimhae, Gyeongju, and Gimcheon from January 30 till February 2.
The Church of God held a dedication ceremony for the Yeonje Church in Busan on January 30 where more than 1,000 members attended. On 31st, the following day, it had two more ceremonies in the Naedong Church in Gimhae with about 800 participants, and in the Saha Church in Busan with around 2,000 participants.
“It has been 52 years since the Church was established in 1964. As the Church is working actively, we’re receiving much attention. We can grow and communicate with many people around the world because we believe in God the Mother,” said General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol, whom we met at the Head Office located in Bundang on February 7.
The Church of God has been able to grow and take root in a short period of time, as it centers on the Bible and carries out good deeds and volunteer services, following the example of Christ. This is the belief system of the church that says it exactly follows the teachings of Christ given 2,000 years ago.
Invited by the World Mission Society Church of God, the 69th Overseas Visiting Group came to Korea. 200 members from 82 places in 17 countries stayed in Korea for eight days from August 31 to September 7.
The Church of God Overseas Visiting Group that consists of 200 members from 82 places in 17 countries in North and South Americas, Europe, and Africa visited Korea for eight days.
In 2018, the Winter Olympics where 50,000 people from 95 countries will participate, and the Winter Paralympics where 3,000 people from 45 countries will participate will be held in PyeongChang, Gangwon province of South Korea. When 500 days are left to go till the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, we’re looking forward to seeing Church of God’s passionate supporters who are the key to a successful sporting event.
The Church of God has been establishing its new temples in many places of the world. Its growth is worthy of close attention. Last year, the Church of God had dedication ceremonies for about 40 local churches across Korea. It is planning to hold 30 more this year, too.
The church’s sincere volunteer efforts for many years were recognized. “We being cognisant of the said group’s outstanding voluntary work in the community, and being desirous of showing Our Royal Favour do hereby confer upon it.”
The Church of God, which has taken the lead in environmental protection by carrying out devotional cleanup campaigns, was acknowledged with the Korean Minister of Environment Award at the Green Environment Grand Award 2016 held at the Korea Press Foundation building on the 20th.
