Keeping in step with the movement to preach to seven billion people, the Churches of God are now being established even in small cities of each country. New churches have been built in some areas of Korea, too: Cheolwon in Gangwon Province; Banghak-dong, Dobong-gu in Seoul; Gyeyang-gu and Nam-gu in Incheon. On June 26, the dedication services were held for the Cheolwon Church and for the Banghak Church in Dobong-gu, Seoul; on July 10, for the Gyeyang and the Namgu Churches in Incheon.

At the dedication service for each church, Mother commended the members for their efforts to build the temple through their prayer and voluntary work, and prayed that thousands of blessings would come upon all of them. Mother asked them to pay special attention to their health in the scorching heat during summer, and said encouragingly, “You are the very ones who will enjoy the glory of heaven where only joy and happiness overflow forever. Let’s stand firm in faith and diligently find our lost heavenly family members until we reach such great blessings.”

General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol gave thanks to God and congratulated on the dedication of the new temples. Then he said that the church is to provide people with the truth of the water of life, which is necessary for the salvation of souls, and prayed that many people would realize Heavenly Mother—the source of the water of life—and experience God’s grace of salvation in the new temples. “Let’s keep in mind that we are chosen by God to carry out the mission to preach the gospel. We’re the blessed ones like Moses, Gideon, Paul, and Peter. Let’s depend on the power of God and deliver the water of life to every street, village, and city, and to the whole world,” he repeatedly urged them (Rev 22:17; Gal 4:26; Zec 14:6–8; Eze 47:1–12; Isa 14:24–27).

The dedication services will be held successively as the new temples are under construction in many other regions of Korea such as Janghowon-eup in Icheon, Yeongju, Mungyeong, Daesan-eup in Seosan, and the 2nd Dongtan New Town in Hwaseong.

The Cheolwon Church

Standing beside the Daegyocheon Stream, it looks like a castle on the outside; it is seen well even in the distance. Since there are many military bases in this city, the Cheolwon Church has many military members. From the beginning of their military life, the church members actively help them with worship service attendance and counseling, so that they can adapt to their military life.

Professional soldier members set an example for others inside and outside the military, by doing many good deeds such as regular blood donation and by carrying out their military duties faithfully. The members expressed their determination to display God’s glory and to help their community by devoting themselves to the missionary and volunteer services with the military spirit, “When you do it, it’ll be done.”

The Banghak Church in Dobong, Seoul

The residents of Dobong-gu are proud of their kind neighbors, and clean air and water thanks to Mt. Dobongsan unlike other urban areas. The members, too, work hard to beautify their community by regularly carrying out cleanups at traditional markets and around the Uicheon Stream.

With one story below and three stories above the ground, the church has three-dimensional architectural beauty on the inside and the outside. Despite heavy rain by the monsoonal front, the dedication service was successfully held; the main worship hall and the auxiliary facilities were filled without empty seats.

The Gyeyang Church in Incheon

It presents an exotic landscape as the reddish brown bricks, solid wood, and iron terraces come together harmoniously. Mt. Gyeyangsan behind the church makes the beautiful temple stand out even more.

The Seowun Industrial Complex is expected to be completed by the end of this year. So, Gyeyang-gu is now being spotlighted as an emerging industrial region to lead the development of Incheon. The members of the Gyeyang Church in Incheon hope that the new temple will be a place of rest for their neighbors as they are exhausted from their busy urban lives. They plan to continue to hold the Bible seminars and events for families.

The Namgu Church in Incheon

Nam-gu, the administrative district name, has been changed to Michuhol-gu as of July 1. Michuhol means the town of water, which was the original name of Incheon. To open a new golden era while preserving its history and tradition, Incheon changed its name to Michuhol.

The members of the Namgu Church were determined to open a new golden gospel era as they attended the dedication service for the new temple. They expressed their firm will, “Many young people have come for work from other regions to this area. We will diligently put God’s teachings into practice so that they can fill their lonely, empty hearts with the hope for heaven and the love of God.”
