The fire of the gospel was burning with the fragrances of Zion from the overseas mission teams throughout the summer. On September 12 (the first day of the seventh month in the sacred calendar), the Sacred Assembly of the Feast of Trumpets, which proclaims the time of the spiritual harvest, was held.

The Feast of Trumpets starts ten days before the Day of Atonement, which originated from the work of Moses: When Moses delayed coming down from Mount Sinai after he went up the mountain to receive the Ten Commandments from God, the people of Israel fell into idolatry by worshipping the golden calf. Because of their sin, the tablets containing the Ten Commandments which Moses had received were broken. Then the Israelites stripped off their ornaments and repented of their sin, and they received the second set of tablets of the Ten Commandments from God on the tenth day of the seventh month in the sacred calendar, which was the Day of Atonement. In preparation for the Day of Atonement, the people blew the trumpet of repentance for ten days from the first day of the Feast of Trumpets until the Day of Atonement.

On this day, Mother gave thanks to Father for choosing His children to be saved through the feasts of life, and prayed for Her children to be forgiven of all their sins, committed in heaven and on this earth, by fully confessing them before God, and to be born again as the gospel workers blowing loud the trumpet of repentance in Samaria and to the ends of the earth.

Chief Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim explained God’s will contained in the Feast of Trum-pets, stating that God established the Feast of Trumpets to allow human beings, who were separated from God because of sin, to be able to come near to Him again through repentance. He emphasized the importance of repentance, saying that the core of the gospel, which Christ preached to save sinners on this earth, was “repentance” (Matthew 3:1). In addition, he emphasized that true repentance brings love, unity and consideration which Mother has personally showed us, and urged the members, “Keeping in mind that every teaching of God begins with repentance, let’s confess all our sins before God by examining every aspect of our faith, and produce abundant fruit in keeping with repentance by diligently preaching the gospel.”

The members gave thanks to God for giving them the opportunity to repent and opening the way to receive the forgiveness of sins, and committed themselves to awaken many people around the world and lead them to repentance, as God’s faithful children.
