In 2008 the year of great hope, the gospel is spreading rapidly, and the construction of the temple is also actively carried out, both phy-sically and spiritually. On March 18, before the Passover, the dedication service for the new Church building was held in addition to the Third Day service in Seogu, Daejeon. The next day, March 19, the dedication service for the new Church building was graciously held in Gangneung.

At the service, Mother gave thanks to Father for listening to His children’s prayer, offered with one mind, and granting them a new temple. She also asked Him to open wide the door for preaching so that the temple would be filled with good, mature fruits and gospel workers, and to help them fully carry out the mission of leading all mankind to Zion, the city of refuge, before the last disaster comes upon the earth. In addition, Mother complimented the members who had worked hard to build the temple. Remembering the early days of the Church when it was in financial difficulties, Mother encouraged the members, saying, “As there has been a remarkable growth of the gospel according to the prophecies, the heavenly kingdom of eternal joy will arrive soon as God has promised. So, let’s overcome all hardships and quickly find our heavenly fam-ily members scattered all around the world.”

General Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim reminded the members what kind of mindset and faith they should have, in his sermon titled “Let’s Become Worthy Christians.” He repeatedly emphasized, “The same material may result in a totally different value according to what it is made for. Likewise, our life may have a completely different value according to what we live for.” In addition, he urged the members, saying, “Like the good Samaritan who didn’t leave the man who fell into the hands of robbers and was half dead but took good care of him, let’s revive all mankind by diligently preaching the good news of life to numerous dying souls around the world and taking care of them” (Luke 10:30-37).

The Seogu Church in Daejeon, newly built at a central area of the city enclosed by main institutions such as the Daejeon Expo Park, the Daejeon Museum of Art and the Daejeon Government Complex, has settled as a beau-tiful temple of the truth that displays the glory of the heavenly Jerusalem all over the city. The Gangneung Church, built elegantly and magnificently, is also shining the light of the new covenant brightly as a barn of grace that will fulfill the great work of the gospel in this age.

The members, who had patiently waited for this day, gave thanks to God with joy, and expressed their firm determination, saying, “As God has granted us a larger temple, we will have a wider vision for the gospel and take the lead in the great work of saving all mankind.”
