Gathering Under the Wings of Mother, the Spiritual Shelter

  • Nation | Korea
  • Date | September 16, 2010
“I feel so cozy and comfortable in Korea that I even forget about being homesick. There’s only one reason—it is because Heavenly Mother dwells here. From the moment I am embraced in the arms of Mother, I feel at peace and rest as if I am at home. Mother is truly my destiny” (Deacon Sam from the 2nd Auckland Church, New Zealand).

Like destiny, God’s children flew to Korea from all nations. The 46th Overseas Visiting Group consisted of over 200 members from 39 Churches in 11 countries—Japan, Singapore, Philippines, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

On September 6, the 46th Overseas Visiting Group took their first steps in Korea.Although they looked somewhat nervous, they could not hide their excitement on their way to see Mother. As they saw Mother waiting to welcome Her children, who came all the way from overseas, with Her arms wide open, their eyes were soon filled with tears. Brother James (Cape Town, South Africa) expressed his overwhelming feelings, saying, “From a few weeks before I came to Korea, I felt like I had become a figure in the Bible.

As soon as I heard the voice of Mother saying, ‘I’ve missed you!’ I felt like my soul was being awakened from a 6,000 year long sleep.”
As the long spell of rain came to an end and the scorching summer sunlight was also hidden in the clouds, the overseas members’ dreamlike trip started under the wings of Mother, the cozy and warm shelter.

The education program focused on teaching the truth, which was held at the Elohim Training Institute and the WMC Head Office. This education program consisted of preaching the Bible and viewing videos, which provided the overseas members with the opportunity to feel God’s love contained in each and every word of God and to foster the spirit of a prophet, rather than to accumulate Bible knowledge.

Mother encouraged Her children to have confidence and listened to their Bible presentation. Encouraged by warm compliments and blessings from Mother, the overseas members cultivated the ability to testify to God’s word and boosted their faith with a more positive and
progressive attitude.

What touched them the most was a video sermon containing the voice of Heavenly Father. Brother Vishal, who had been living a life of faith from his school days, expressed his yearning for Father, saying, “I always wanted to see and feel Father, and today I heard Father’s voice. Father taught us about the behavior, attitude and character we should have. What I learned through Father’s sermon was much more profound than the Word that I had learned through the Bible. I can feel the merciful love of Father who wants us to prepare ourselves both in body and spirit so that we can have perfect faith.”

The overseas members also visited the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute which has a prophetic meaning—“Go” to the world and “Come” to the Spirit and the Bride! They took a look around the photo exhibition, through which they observed the current status of the gospel work in Korea and overseas and vividly felt the fervor for world evangelism. Then they visited the birthplace of the late former first lady Yuk Young-soo; they looked around the traditional Korean house and experienced Korean culture.

They also had the opportunity to visit the Church of God History Museum and the N Seoul Tower. By looking around the History Museum that contains numerous reminders of the 6,000-year-long history of the gospel—from heaven to heaven again through the ages of the Old and New Testaments and this present age, the overseas members understood God’s administration of redemption, and they saw, felt and realized Elohim’s footsteps of suffering indirectly, which they had vaguely understood. When they visited the N Seoul Tower, they retraced Mother’s footsteps of sacrifice by taking a careful look around the Seoul area where Mother had personally reclaimed the gospel.

Mother took great care of Her children, worrying about their safety, from early in the morning until late at night. Deacon Loy (Singapore)—this was his third visit to Korea—said, “Mother always asked us, Her children from each country, if there was anything we felt inconvenient or uncomfortable with, if we were sick, or if we liked the food. And She always said, ‘I love you. I’ve missed you.’ I was so overwhelmed by tears that I could not even control my emotions. Each time I visited Korea, I obtained a different realization. This time, Mother’s great love contained in Her every word is imprinted more deeply in my heart.”

In Mother’s love and protection, the overseas members rejoiced and felt happy like little children, forgetting all their worries and cares. Although each of them had a different nationality and language, they were all united together, full of smiles; every time they had a meal, they sang a New Song together, and it brought a smile to Mother’s face.

On the worship days, they visited the Seo-gu Church in Daejeon, the New Jerusalem Temple, the Nakseom Church in Incheon, the Gwanak Church in Seoul, and the Bojeong Church in Yongin, where they shared the love of the heavenly family with Korean members. Sister Zhangtantan (Nagoya, Japan) said with her eyes full of tears, “The moment we entered the worship hall, all the members stood up and welcomed us with applause. I felt comfortable and happy as if I was back home. They are truly my family.”

When the overseas visiting group had their last worship service in Korea, Mother delivered a sermon titled “You Must Be Born Again to Enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” In Her sermon, Mother instructed, “In order to enter the glorious kingdom of heaven, you have to be reborn as beautiful heavenly children, following God’s examples of sacrifice, humility, serving others and so on.” Anxious about all kinds of disasters occurring around the world, Mother also repeatedly asked the 46th Overseas Visiting Group members to become great gospel workers to preach the good news of salvation to their countries and neighboring countries as well. Sister Aom (Thailand) reaffirmed her determination, saying, “I prayed that my soul would repent and change, and my prayer has been answered. I will keep in mind what Mother has told us to do and put it into practice.”

Though it was a short trip lasting ten days, the overseas members received the abundant gifts of the Holy Spirit of the latter rain. They all asked Mother for the same blessing—the fulfillment of the Ten Talent Mission and the establishment of Zion. When they returned to their countries in order to accomplish these goals, they encouraged one another by shouting aloud, “We love you!”

“People from all over the world are streaming to Zion—into the arms of Mother! They are all carried away by Mother’s love, the warmth of Her love. I will take everything I felt from Mother in Korea to my country. And I will shout to the members of Zion and to all whom I will preach to, ‘Come to Mother! Mother is waiting for you!’ ” (Sister Wong Yih Jing from Johor Baharu, Malaysia).

-Interview With the 46th Overseas Visiting Group
The weather was really fantastic. Wherever the overseas visiting group went, the rain stopped pouring down and there was a refreshing breeze under the shadow of clouds instead of the hot sun. It was surely a gift of God’s love. In the love of God, the 46th Overseas Visiting Group members filled their hearts with emotions and grew quickly in faith day by day. Even though they had different appearances and nationalities, they all had one thing in common—that was the yearning for Mother and the will for the gospel.

The first time I visited Korea a few years ago, I was the only person who came from Pakistan, and there were not many members. But this time there are more than 200 people, so I am very excited and joyful. Every day I feel a new joy welling up and I feel like I am in heaven because Heavenly Mother is here with us and we talk to Mother and listen to Her voice every day. It gives us the greatest satisfaction and delight.
As Jerusalem in Israel was the blessed land 2,000 years ago, so Korea where Heavenly Father and Mother have come is the most blessed land today. It is very important that we are now here in the holy land where Heavenly Father and Mother dwell. Many people envy the apostles who stayed with Jesus, but actually we now see our Heavenly Mother, so we are the most blessed people.
Two years ago, I left Lahore and came to Multan, my hometown. Multan is situated on a high ground and it is a hot region where it rarely rains. Recently, there was much rain, and we were so glad. But the rain didn’t stop, which caused floods and claimed the lives of many people.
Our Zion was safe, but we felt bad because we were very lazy about preaching salvation to the souls in Pakistan. When I met Mother this time, I told Her the news of Pakistan.Mother said that there are still many souls left to be saved.
Now I have to preach quickly. Even though Islam is prosperous in Pakistan and there is so much strife, I will put forth all of my strength to preach the good news of salvation to them in order to save them from rampant disasters.

One day, when I was at home during my summer vacation, some foreigners visited me. They were Koreans who were not good at speaking Japanese. They talked to me about the Bible. I wondered if they would be able to teach me the Bible because they could not even speak Japanese. However, because I liked the Bible since I was a child, I decided to listen to them first. Although I could not fully understand what they were saying, I was curious about some words such as the Sabbath, the Passover, and Heavenly Mother. Unknowingly I asked them a question that I’d had till then. Even though they were sweating a lot in the hot weather, they were so eager to answer my question.
From a long time ago, I had this thought: “Since we call God ‘Father,’ there must be ‘Mother’ as well.” Surprisingly, Mother really exists. What is more surprising is that She is in the same form as us and dwells in Korea! I wanted to meet Her in person and to experience the overwhelming emotion directly.
We arrived at the Elohim Training Institute in the darkness of night. As we stepped up the stairs, we saw Mother shining brightly.
‘We are really meeting God! Just as prophesied, we are able to see Her with our own eyes!’
I felt that She is truly my Mother and I am really Her child. There was one more thing that I realized. Actually while in Osaka, I did not understand why the members loved me so much. All my curiosity was answered only after I met Mother. Now I realize that the source of love is Mother. Even though I have been physically apart from Mother, I’ve been continuously receiving the love of Mother through my brothers and sisters. Actually, I’ve never been apart from Mother.
Mother took great care of us, and She never stopped working. I also want to do something for Her. It is the preaching of the gospel. I saw the trees full of big fruits at the Elohim Training Institute. I’d also like to bear much good fruit. I don’t feel like leaving Korea, but onthe other hand I want to go back to Osaka quickly. It’s because I have to convey the love I‘ve received from Mother.

When I was a university student in South Africa, I received the truth and visited Korea. Then I was filled with a burning desire to preach. After finishing my studies, I came back to my home country, Zimbabwe, where I could preach the truth to people more easily because I spoke the same language and had the same culture as them. So I realized that it was Mother’s calling to send me to Zimbabwe.
I came to Korea again to receive Mother’s water of life for the gospel in Zimbabwe. There are three wishes I ask Mother to grant: First, I want to bear much good fruit by receiving wisdom necessary for preaching. Second, I want a big Zion to be established in Harare. Third, I want all the members in Harare to achieve the Ten Talent Mission by bearing at least ten fruits.
The Ten Talent Mission is an opportunity Mother has given us to allow us to bear much fruit and save souls in Zimbabwe. All the members in Harare want to accomplish this mission. Even the new members who have just received the truth have great fervor to accomplish the Ten Talent Mission. However, it is impossible without God’s help. That’s why I’m here. I hope to receive the Holy Spirit from Mother abundantly.
Actually, when I came here for the first time, I was only filled with a burning desire to preach; I did not know why Mother gave us so much love. Now I realize the reason. Mother wants us to return with this love deep in our hearts and give it to our brothers and sisters. I will deliver the same love that I received from Mother to my brothers and sisters.

I was curious to know what love is, and wondered if the perfect love and truth really exist. Since I was thirsty for love from my childhood days, I cried every night and fell asleep while imagining myself being hugged in the arms of God.
Since I did not know what love is, my life was full of darkness. If somebody hurt me, I hurt them more than they hurt me and even hated them. In order not to be hurt, I tried to become stronger. I no longer yearned for love, nor did I want to know about love.
However, the more I tried to do so, the more frustrated I was. I wanted to get out of this suffering, so I prayed to God every day. Then God answered me. The good news about Heavenly Mother was what I had been looking for so earnestly. How much my soul missed Heavenly Mother since I was cast down to this earth, having left Heavenly Mother!
After I arrived in Korea, my heart was always overflowing with Mother’s holy love. It was a tremendous blessing beyond words to be able to see Mother face to face, to converse with Her and to hear Her voice. I told Mother my wish which I had earnestly asked for. I wished to be changed beautifully by realizing the love of Mother. I believe that Mother’s love can truly change everything.
I do not seek for love any longer. Instead, I’ve learned to “give love.” Mother hugged me, a sinner, held my hand and smiled at me. I am so happy. What the world needs the most now is also the love of Heavenly Mother. When I return to my country, I will become a warrior of the truth and lead many of my brothers and sisters into the arms of Mother.

As I got closer to Mother, I became very nervous and started to tremble. When I stood before Mother, I couldn’t say anything. Being hugged in Mother’s arms, I just prayed in my heart that Mother would give me wisdom and knowledge; I remembered that when a woman suffering from bleeding touched Jesus’ cloak, she was healed, so I thought that if I hugged Mother with faith while hoping for something, it would come true. My hope really came true.
Even though I stayed in the Christchurch Zion and studied God’s word for a year, I couldn’t receive as much realization as I did here. Since Mother always stayed with us and took care of us, I was able to learn so much; I didn’t have anything to worry about. I also had the confidence to bear much fruit because Mother blessed me by saying, “Bear much fruit.” This is truly the power of Mother. When I go back, I will definitely be able to preach Mother more boldly and confidently.
Oh, let me tell you the news about Christchurch. It was at 4:30 a.m. on September 4, before I came to Korea. I was working when the building started to shake violently and the lights went out; everything collapsed. It was an earthquake. I ran out and went to Zion, the safest place where God keeps us safe.
The next morning I saw five Babylon churches, which were only ten years old, destroyed, but nothing happened to our Zion building which was 100 years old. We were all safe in it. It was really a miracle. Although Zion was not a strong built building, Father and Mother protected us. On the Sabbath day when the earthquake struck, many souls received the promise of salvation.
When I came to Korea and called home to my wife in Christchurch, she said that at the Third Day service Zion was full with barely any empty seats. People are listening more to the Passover; their spiritual eyes and ears are wide open to the power of the Passover and the promise of God. They thought that Christchurch is a safe place, but the earthquake occurred. So they feel the reality of disasters and have no excuse anymore.
From what happened in Christchurch, I feel more urgent to preach. Before, I only preached when convenient. This makes me feel guilty and responsible for people’s lives. When I go back, I will double my efforts to preach the gospel.
