General Assembly 2014: Mother’s Love Perfecting the Year of Jubilee

March 31 was the first day of the first month by the sacred calendar. Before the general assembly was held, the pastoral staff in and out of Korea gathered at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute and had an education for seven days from the 24th to the 30th. Through the education, they studied the words of God, and pulled themselves together with the gospel mission and the pastoral spirit.

At 10 a.m., on the 31st, the worship service for the General Assembly 2014 was held at the Promise Temple of the institute with title holders from the Head Office and the pastoral staff attended.

“If you believe in God and depend on Him, God will help you with everything.”

Mother gave thanks to God the Father for opening the general assembly in the blessing of the year of jubilee, and prayed for all the churches and the members around the world to be filled with the blessings of the Holy Spirit which were prepared for the New Year by the sacred calendar. Mother earnestly prayed that all the members in the grace of God would have hope for the kingdom of heaven despite economic depression and various disasters, always give thanks, and fully prepare the lamp and oil of faith so that they could please God.

Mother complimented all the members around the world for their efforts to spread the gospel last year, and gave a lesson about faith that the prophets should have through the sermon titled, “I Will Help You.”

Mother mentioned God’s promise, quoting the words, “Like birds hovering overhead, I will shield you” (Isa 41:10–13; Isa 31:4–5; Isa 35:3) and asked us to do our hardest in saving poor souls by preaching the gospel since God Himself helps us against all the slanders of Satan the devil.

Mother praised the faith of 300 warriors of Gideon and young David who defeated the enemy with the help of God by only relying on God, and asked us, too, to depend only on God and win the victory in everything with the help of God.

“If you love God, have God’s love in you.”

Mother reminded us of the fact that the pastoral staff members are entrusted with the mission to take care of God’s sheep. She added that Jesus asked us to feed God’s sheep with His love if we love Him (Jn 21:15–17), and asked us to willingly set good examples before the flock with God’s love (1 Pe 5:2) and to become the prophets who examine their own faith and persevere always (Isa 13:4; 2 Pe 3:17; Rev 3:10).

General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol said, “Let’s engrave the words of Mother on our hearts and always examine our faith to see if what we do is worthy of God’s will, and become prophets who save many souls by feeding them with God’s love.”

The general assembly continued for three days till April 2. On the last day of the assembly, the closing service was held at the gym of the institute. During the service, Mother repeatedly asked them to take good care of the sheep whom God entrusted to them, with God’s love.

For ten days off and on the first day of the New Year by the sacred calendar, God’s shepherds were clothed with God’s love and blessings that were like a waterfall. They were armed with the firm faith that only relies on God and the resolution to save souls with God’s love, going with God into the world powerfully as life stewards.
