“Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be” (Job 8:7).
According to this prophecy, we are now achieving great progress in the gospel of the new covenant, both physically and spiritually. On July 18, there was the dedication service for the new temple of the Church of God in Gwanak, Seoul, which had been taking a leading role in such remarkable progress. The Church building was expanded into a new, large and beautiful temple with seven floors above ground and two below.

The Church members, who realized their long-cherished dream for the new temple, did not conceal their excitement and delight. They were overwhelmed with gratitude and happiness, feeling the loving touch of Heavenly Father and Mother everywhere in the temple, including the main worship hall which is bright and cozy with a warm atmosphere just as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings.

Mother gave thanks to Father through prayer for having led the Gwanak Church to be able to lead the gospel work in the capital area since the early days of the Church of God even in difficult circumstances, and for having allowed a beautiful temple to be built. Mother complimented the efforts of Her children who had faithfully carried out the mission of the gospel, believing God’s word and enduring many hardships, until the temple was completed. She blessed them to deliver heavenly hope to their neighbors and to all people around the world, always uniting with one another in love and making efforts to preach the gospel.

General Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim gave thanks and glory to God for allowing the gracious temple to be built and said, “The Church that God establishes is a place to gather the people who love God and bring them up. Let us carry out our God-given mission faithfully, so that this temple will be the true gospel center where many souls can find God and learn how to love.” He also expressed his desire that the Gwanak Church should produce many prophets who would take the lead in the movement to save the whole world, just as the Church took a leading role in actively preaching the gospel inside and outside of Korea in the early days of the Church of God.

The new temple is a mixture of classical and modern styles and presents a magnificent external appearance, which even makes the neighboring regions look better. The building consists of the main service hall which can hold up to a thousand people, a small worship hall, an education hall, a conference hall, an interpretation room, a cafeteria, a grand hall, a terrace, and many other facilities. Each hall or room is designed to be practical and unique.

The Church of God in Gwanak, Seoul, has been beautifully reborn, and stands magnificently in the Gwanak area as the gospel center that teaches God’s love and carries out the mission of saving the world, so that the light of truth will shine more brilliantly.
