On February 24, 2003, Rev. Kim Joo-cheol, Chairman of the Whole Assembly of Church of God, World Mission Society, received the Presidential Citation Award for the outstanding contribution to the success of the 8th Busan FESPIC Games.
This prize program was designed by the Ministry of Health & Welfare to recognize and honor the groups or individuals who made great contributions to the success of the Busan FESPIC Games.

Church of God played a leading role for the successful FESPIC Games by volunteering service activities. Each branch church in Busan area took charge of each country's athletes. Not to speak of cheering in the stadiums, they wholeheartedly supported the athletes from arrival to departure. 1,700 man-days served the athletes form 43 countries; their heartfelt service impressed the athletes and Busan citizens as well.

Among the prize winners, Rev. Kim Joo-cheol, Chairman of Church of God, was the only one from religious leaders; this shows the volunteers' outstanding activities of Church of God is recognized. Besides, Pyo Gie-sahng and Han Yong-jo, Pastors of Church of God in Busan area, received the Ministerial Citation from the Ministry of Health & Welfare.

It is known that the Ministry of Health & Welfare fairly judged the prize nominees according to the records written by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Busan FESPIC Games and the Mayer of Busan.
