11月2日, 中部日报举办了‘第一届守护八堂湖的人’马拉松大会。为纪念‘2003年世界水日’而展开的这次活动-马拉松大会, 使市民重新认识八堂湖的重要性和保护水质的需要性。

平时对环保运动特有关心的‘上帝的教会-世界福音宣教协会’的圣徒30余名, 此日参加大会获得了‘团体参加奖’和纪念杯。
