In 2008, at the beginning of the new year in the sacred calendar, the guide post of the gospel was proclaimed with the following message—“As three percent of salt receives all the dirt and purifies it, let us find God’s children who will purify the six billion people like the three percent of salt and save the whole world!” Following this great will of God, Missionary Tejendra from the 2nd Kathmandu Church, Nepal, visited Korea last March to attend the “2008 General Assembly.” We were able to hear the vivid news about the gospel work of the 2nd Kathmandu Church in Nepal from Missionary Tejendra, a Nepalese overseer, who had been passionately preaching the love of God Elohim in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Above all, we are curious to know how the gospel work of the 2nd Kathmandu Church goes on. The 2nd Kathmandu Church branched out from the Kathmandu Church in July, 2006. When the Church just branched out, it had only a few workers while there were over 200 members. Nevertheless, the members studied the Bible diligently through the preaching guide, and practiced preaching what they had studied to each other. By doing so, they naturally began to participate in the preaching of the gospel. As the number of gospel workers increased like that, spiritual fruits were harvested abundantly. Now, the number of the members of the 2nd Kathmandu Church has increased by nearly four times since it branched out. As a result, we’ve also been blessed to expand our Church about a year after it branched out. We truly give thanks to God Elohim for the blessings They’ve continuously bestowed upon the 2nd Kathmandu Church.
Could you tell us if there are any characteristics of the members of the 2nd Kathmandu Church?

The members realize deeply in their hearts that preaching is a special mission entrusted by God and also a great blessing. So, even in difficult circumstances, they try to preach whenever they have time. A male adult preaches God’s word from early in the morning whenever he has a day off, and a member who works at dawn preaches the gospel from the morning after finishing work. There are also many brothers and sisters who preach diligently in their given circumstances; they make a promise to each other and meet together to preach even though they do not drop in Zion. They try to preach the gospel because they are willing, not because someone has told them to do it. I believe that their willingness and efforts truly please and move God. This is evidence that their hearts are filled with love towards heavenly Father and Mother.
It is the same with the new members who have just been led to Zion. Recently a male adult, who had been living in affluence, following Hinduism, received God. While studying the prophecy of the creation in six days, he was very surprised by the truth, saying, “Wow, what an amazing truth! There are truly our heavenly Father and Mother!” and understood the truth clearly. Then he led his wife to Zion, and preached the truth to his friends who were attending other churches and even to religious leaders whom he had been acquainted with. As they couldn’t answer any questions about the truth of the Bible, he awakened them, saying, “There is an amazing truth which God has called me into and has allowed me to realize. Please listen to it,” and led many of his friends to God.
Don’t you have any difficulties in preaching the gospel? Many people think it will be very difficult to bear the fruit of the gospel in Nepal where most people follow Hinduism and Buddhism. However, God is the Creator who existed even before Hinduism and Buddhism came into being. God the Creator is with us on this earth, isn’t He? That’s why our brothers and sisters preach the heavenly Father and Mother to whomever they meet without hesitation. They let people know about our spiritual Parents who are our origin and have given birth to our spirits.
Of course, there were many times when we were hindered and persecuted. However, as the foreign civilization came into the country and people’s consciousness began to open, God smoothed the path for us to preach in Nepal. So, we are now preaching the gospel diligently with a more thankful heart. In Kathmandu, the power supply is cut off for 4-8 hours a day. This caused us to have many difficulties, but now we needn’t worry about it anymore because God has moved the hearts of our brothers and sisters; a male adult bought a generator for Zion, and now we’ve purchased an inverter (a device that converts battery power into alternating current of a high voltage), so that we’ve been able to hold worship services graciously in good circumstances. The Nepalese brothers and sisters always care about Zion to see if there is anything to do in order to be blessed by God, even though they live in difficult circumstances. They make every effort to serve Zion in their given circumstances. Because of their support, we can concentrate on preaching the gospel without difficulty.
What advice would you give to those preparing to go overseas to preach? It is faith that is needed above all for overseas preaching. Wherever you are, if you are united with the native members and preach the gospel with a determination to follow the sacrificial path that Father walked, and with an eagerness to find our lost brothers and sisters, God will surely lead you in everything. Some of you may worry about their lack of foreign language ability. However, do not be burdened with the thought that you should speak fluently from the beginning, and instead try constantly with a true and earnest heart, receiving help from the native members. Then God will quickly increase your language ability.
There is one more thing I’d like to tell you; convey the love and sacrifice of Father and Mother to the native brothers and sisters from the bottom of your heart. When Korean brothers and sisters go overseas, the native members give them a great welcome and serve them. Last winter, when a short-term mission team came to Nepal, they were very touched by the native brothers and sisters who welcomed them very warmly and served them. Actually, there is a reason why the native members do so. Brothers and sisters from Korea probably do overseas preaching according to their faith and determination. However, the native members believe that the brothers and sisters from Korea are prophets sent by Father and Mother, so they do not treat them easily. They want to feel the love of heavenly Father and Mother through the members from Korea, though indirectly, and try to follow their example. So, if you cherish the love and sacrifice of God Elohim in your hearts and set a good example, you will quickly become united in love with the native members and receive the fruit of the gospel abundantly from God.
Lastly, would you tell us about the 2nd Kathmandu Church’s plans for the gospel? Now, the 2nd Kathmandu Zion is too small for us. Kathmandu is divided into three main regions: Kirtipur, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. We are planning to branch out into the region where Zion has not been established yet. Also, we are praying with one mind that Zion will be soon established in Bharatpur, too, where some brothers and sisters live. Staying water rots, but a constantly flowing spring doesn’t run dry—the more water you draw, the more abundant its flow is. Likewise, the 2nd Kathmandu Church will receive God’s blessings more abundantly when it branches out into many other regions.
We have a plan unchangeable before and now as well. Our plan is to preach the gospel with the love and sacrifice of Father and Mother in our hearts. If we realize the love of our heavenly Father and Mother, we can love one another as God has loved us. When we have the heart of God, we can be more concerned for our brothers and sisters and take care of the sheep wholeheartedly. So, we always think about ‘how to convey the love that we’ve received from God to our brothers and sisters?’ and try to put God’s love into practice.
God has set a wonderful goal for the gospel in 2008. Engraving the unchanging love of Father and Mother in our hearts, we the 2nd Kathmandu Church will also participate in the great work of salvation—finding the heavenly children who will purify the whole world like three percent of salt.
