Under the long awaited gentle rain, the 43rd Annual Gyeongnam Sports Festival was held on May 3, 2004. At this sports event, inhabitants of each city in Gyeongnam province competed against one another. Among them, there was a group of people who attracted public gaze. They were the Aurah Supporters from the Church of God. About 150 members of the Church formed a supporting group, and their cheer was systematic and energetic enough to enhance the Changwon city's prestige.

It was the Aurah Supporters' second cheering activity, following that of last year.

After the first cheering activity at the Annual Gyeongnam Sports Festival held in the last year, the Church received good reputations from provincial newspapers and mass medias saying that they were the driving force behind the Changwon city's winning the competition three years in a row. Having a strong confidence in the Aurah Supporters, an official from the Changwon city government asked them to cheer for the city once more this year. The city made it clear that they would actively support the works of the Aurah Supporters with providing T-shirts and meals.

"Thanks to the Aurah Supporters' cheer, Changwon city won the competition three years in a row last year. I believe Changwon city can take the first place this year, too. I would like to express my gratitude to the Church members for arranging time in spite of their busy schedules to cheer for the city, " said Yun Jong-eun from the Culture and Sports Department of the Changwon city.

He expected the Aurah Supporters to help them as they did before. wishing for the city's winning for the fourth time this year,

Many distinguished guests and officials of the city government participated in the sports event: Ha Sam-seok the Vice Mayor, Bae Yeoung-wu the Chairman of the Changwon City Council, and Song Byung-jin the Secretary General. The guests were encouraged and impressed by the supporters' fervent cheer.

The Aurah Supporters from the Church of God played a dominant role in the 2002 Busan Asian Games and the FESPIC Games, and in the 2003 Daegu Summer Universiade, bringing an advancement in both the country's prestige and cheering culture. Now, they appeared on a stage where the eight provinces of Korea display their friendship and union. They again burst out their energy and delivered the love of God to every corner of society, as the light and salt of the world.
