The 2nd Gwangjin Church, Seoul, Delivered a Donation for Refugees In Rwanda

  • International Aid
  • Nation | South Korea
  • Date | March 15, 2006
The sudden frost has left and warm spring has come. The Church of God continues to do good deeds beautiful as spring flowers. On March 15, the 2nd Gwangjin Church in Seoul delivered a donation to Jeanpierre Fundi(43), who is staying in Korea as a refugee from Rwanda.

Mr. Fundi came to Korea alone, leaving his wife and four children in South Africa, to avoid the civil war in Rwanda. A few days ao, he heard that his third son would be undergoing an operation for hypertrophic rhinitis (a chronic disease that happens when there has been repeated or long-term inflammation of the mucous membrane). However, he didnt have enough money to send to his family for his sons operation. The members in the 2nd Gwangjin Church in Seoul heard of the news and decided to contribute a donation to him.

At first Mr. Fundi refused to receive the donation, but accepted it later when he found out that the Church of God serves neighbors and society with true heart.
The real reason that I am so happy now is not because Ive been given a donation, but because I can feel the true love of the Church of God, said Mr. Fundi. And he gave thanks to God, saying, Ill help other people in need just they have done to me. And Ill attend all the voluntary services that are held by the Church of God.

He kept saying that he wais so happy and added that his family in South Africa was also pleased by this news. The Church of God hopes that Mr. Fundi will hear happy and peaceful news, rather than news about wars and diseases, from his family and country.
