The Seed of God
The Bible tells us that God regards the people, who are to be saved in the last days, as His seed, and that He will see His seed by giving Himself as a guilt offering.
Among God’s creatures in nature, a seed has special characteristics. When the seed sprouts to life, it resembles the maternal form exactly. A seed also has the characteristic of bearing fruit. Every kind of seed bears much fruit as it sprouts and possesses its own distinct form and shape.
The Bible says that God regards us as His seed. This implies that if we are born again in the truth and grow in faith, we must resemble God and bear fruit.
Unless we learn God’s love and sacrifice correctly, we will not be able to fully perform our role and function as the seed of God. We should walk in a manner worthy of God’s seed, so that people can see and understand God fully when they look at us. Moreover, we need to bear much fruit to please God.
The seed generated by the sacrifice of Christ
Nowadays there are so many Christians, who call themselves spiritual Israelites and God’s people, like the sand of the seed throughout the world.
However, the children of promise, who are chosen by God, are only those who are regarded as the seed of God (Ro 9:27-29). In order to bring forth His seed, God presented His holy body as a guilt offering.
Isa 53:8-10 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken. He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.
Isaiah 53 prophetically describes the work of Christ who endured the extreme pain of the cross to save us. It is written that God will see His offspring [seed] when He makes His life a guilt offering. We, who are redeemed through Christ’s blood, are the seed of Christ, aren’t we?
Just as a seed resembles in shape the original plant it came from, we—the seed of Christ—should resemble Christ. Like Christ who sacrificed Himself on the cross for the salvation of mankind, we, too, should devote our hearts and souls to saving the world, being willing to endure suffering and sacrifice.
Children of Mother are the offspring [seed] of God
Ro 9:6-9 It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” In other words, it is not the natural children who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.”
Gal 4:26-31 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother . . . Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. But what does the Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.” Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.
Only the children of promise can be regarded as the offspring [seed] of God. The Bible states that the children of Mother, the free Woman, are the children of promise. Just as only Isaac was acknowledged as the seed of Abraham, only the children of promise through Mother are recognized as the seed of God.
We, who believe in God the Father and God the Mother, should give ourselves fully to the work of finding our lost brothers and sisters, as our Father and Mother do. Moreover, we should also love the members, be patient with them, and humble ourselves, so we can walk the path of faith graciously. When we have these characteristics, we can be called the “seed of God”—“children of God.”
If a pine seed has fallen to the ground and grows, can it produce broad leaves instead of thin needles? Never. If the seed does not possess characteristics of a pine tree, it cannot be a pine seed. We, the seed of God, must resemble God in both appearance and spirit.
Mk 9:50 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”
If the seed of God lose their characteristics, they also lose the meaning and purpose of their existence on this earth. We must resemble and imitate Christ in His life and inherit all His characteristics. Since God wants us to be His children who resemble Him fully in every way, He describes us as His seed.
In order to see His seed, God even rendered His holy soul as a guilt offering.
God’s seed possessing the fervor to save souls
There are many characteristics which we should resemble from Christ.
Now, let’s take a look at what Jesus did while on this earth, and think over what God really means by saying that we are the “seed of Christ.”
Lk 19:10 “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”
If we are the seed of Christ, we should resemble Him to the fullest extent, having the same meaning and purpose of life as Him. What Christ did when He came to this earth was to seek and save the lost. Following His will, we should devote ourselves to saving souls. Then we can be worthy of being called the “seed of Christ.”
Mk 1:35-39 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!” Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.
Christ spent His whole life preaching the kingdom of God; He prayed early in the morning and traveled from town to town proclaiming the gospel of God and urging repentance. If we are regarded as the seed of Christ, we must not neglect the mission of preaching the gospel—the work of saving souls.
Preaching is a major characteristic of the seed of God. No matter how beautiful and unique a seed may be, it cannot help but resemble the original plant in shape and form. Since we are the seed of God, we are bound to preach the gospel to everyone, anytime, anywhere. When God came to this earth, He carried out the work of salvation to give life to human beings. So, we are compelled to preach the gospel, and that is the path of life we have to walk (1 Co 9:16).
God’s seed resembling the heart of God
Php 2:1-8 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross!
Since we are the seed of God, we should have the same humble attitude as Jesus. Sinners must humble themselves. If we think of the fact that we are fallen angels who committed sin in heaven, we will not even be able to hold up our heads before God.
Jesus humbled Himself and became obedient to death (Jn 13:15). It was not because He was a sinner but because He wanted us to follow His example. He taught us what we should do as the seed of Christ, through His example. Since God regards us as His seed, we should speak and behave in the same manner as Christ.
If we do not humble ourselves, arrogance sprouts, and it becomes a thorn that hurts other people’s feelings. We sinned against God in heaven and were cast down to this earth. So, we must not commit the sin of arrogance any more on this earth. Those who forget that they are sinners and exalt themselves cannot experience the work of the Holy Spirit.
Php 2:9-11 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
This is the will of God. God tells us to humble ourselves so that we will be exalted enough so that even spiritual beings in the universe will bow down before us. For this, God came in the flesh as a lowly, humble man, and He humbled Himself first and served us, sinners. So we’ve been able to come to salvation and give glory and praise to God.
Christ humbled Himself and became obedient to death, so He eventually received glory through which the Father would be glorified. By setting us this example, Jesus showed us exactly what we should do. Unless we follow Christ’s example, we are not really the seed of God, and if we are not the seed of God, we can never enter the eternal kingdom of heaven.
Co-heirs with Christ who will share in His glory
We, as the seed of God, grow into His worthy children. Preaching, keeping God’s laws, humbling ourselves, obeying God’s command not to be arrogant—we do all these things to resemble God because we are God’s seed.
God has made us His seed by becoming the true kernel of wheat that died (Jn 12:24). So, we should have the same goal in life as Christ and should also have the same mindset as Him. As Apostle Paul said that our attitude should be the same as that of Christ, we must have the heart of Christ who humbled Himself and was obedient to every word of God—even to the point of death.
Father and Mother are calling Their children to Zion. We should all participate in Their work of gathering His people and give ourselves fully to the task of finding our lost brothers and sisters, trying to resemble Christ in every way. Christ got up early in the morning and started each day with prayer; He went to any place where there were those who were waiting for the good news of salvation, and let them know that the kingdom of God was near and led them to repent. Let us follow all these examples of Christ.
God has reserved His seed, and is now scattering the seed all over the world. Wherever the seed is planted, whether in India or Africa, it should grow into the same image as God. If it grows into a different image than that of God, it is not the seed of God.
I hope that all our brothers and sisters throughout the world will become the seed growing into beautiful fruits that resemble God exactly. Being born again is being changed into the image of God, taking off our old self. Being reborn, let us bear much good fruit and glorify God as God’s seed.
