All 66 books of the Bible are the records of the teachings God has given human beings for their salvation, not of personal opinions or philosophies of the prophets. We must believe this absolutely and study God’s word diligently as we believe in God and long for salvation.

The Bible says that the Jerusalem above—our Mother—is free and that we are no longer slaves to sin but have become free as Christ has set us free (Gal 4:26; Jn 8:32–36). We are children of the free, as we believe in God the Father who is free and God the Mother who is free. Let’s examine the meaning of freedom in the Bible and give thanks to God for giving us eternal freedom through the Passover of the new covenant—the law of freedom.

Slaves to sin and death

The purpose of Christ’s coming to the earth is to save humanity (Lk 19:10). Salvation in the Bible means freedom from sin. Before we were redeemed and set free by God’s grace, we were slaves to sin and death.

Ro 7:21–25 So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

The Apostle Paul described humans as prisoners of sin. He groaned, “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?” This shows that life is so painful: Bound by the chains of sin and death, humans cannot be free though they want to, and they die in the end.

However, if there is the law of death, there is the law of life as well.

Ro 8:1–2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

To release people living wretched lives from the law of sin and death, Christ came to the earth and gave the law of the Spirit of life. Let’s find out what this law of the Spirit of life that Christ Himself established is.

The Passover, the law of life established through the blood of Christ

Eph 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace . . .

1 Pe 1: 18–19 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

The Bible says that we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, through the precious blood of Christ. To live in freedom, not in spiritual slavery, we need the precious blood of Christ that sets us free from sin. Without receiving the precious blood of Christ, nobody can be set free from the chains of sin and death.

Jn 6:53–55 Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.”

Having no life means being captive to death. Whoever does not eat Jesus’ flesh and drink His blood is in slavery to death. The wages of sin is death (Ro 6:23). So, only when we receive the forgiveness of sins can we be redeemed from death and have eternal life. Jesus’ flesh and blood that brings us eternal life is given through the Passover.

Mt 26:17–28. . . He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’ ” So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover . . . While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

Christ’s precious blood that sets us free from the law of sin and death refers to the blood of the Passover of the new covenant Christ has brought. The Passover, the law of life that enables us to have the forgiveness of sins through the flesh and blood of Christ, is the greatest gift of God to humankind.

Heavenly Father and Mother have brought the law of freedom

We are the wretched ones who cannot rescue ourselves from the body of death, just as the Apostle Paul said. So, we are in desperate need of someone to save us. Who can rescue us from the body of death?

Only God has the authority to forgive sins. God Himself came down to this earth to redeem mankind from eternal death and to lead them on the path to salvation.

Isa 25:6–9 On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine—the best of meats and the finest of wines. On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The Lord has spoken. In that day they will say, “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”

The law of God that has power to forgive sins is the Passover of the new covenant, which is the law of the Spirit of life—the law of freedom. According to Bible prophecy, the One who destroys sin and death forever through the bread of life and aged wine of the Passover is surely our God who saves us.

As it was prophesied that God would come to save people with the law of freedom, God the Father came to this earth and restored the truth of the Passover which had not been observed for a long time, and Mother has also appeared through the Passover of the new covenant that sets Her children free from the law of sin and death. The book of Revelation records the scene where the Spirit and the Bride invite all people to come and take the free gift of the water of life (Rev 22:17). It’s because the Spirit and the Bride, Heavenly Father and Heavenly Jerusalem Mother, have the new covenant—the truth of life—that can set all people free.

Gal 4:26–31 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. For it is written: “Be glad, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth and cry aloud, you who have no labor pains; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband.” Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. But what does the Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.” Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

To become children of promise like Isaac, we must have Mother who is free. As we have come back into the arms of Jerusalem Mother, we should realize what true freedom is and meet Heavenly Mother by understanding Her correctly through the truth. The Bible describes freedom as being set free from sin, and says that those who are not fettered by the law of sin and death are free. It also emphasizes that we are not children of the slave woman but of the free woman, because Father and Mother have brought the new covenant—the truth of life—to set us free from sin and death and to lead us on the path to salvation.

Through the new covenant, we have become God’s children of promise. In Abraham’s family, Isaac who was born of Sarah the free woman became the heir of Abraham. Isaac was able to inherit Abraham’s estate because his father and mother were free. Likewise, we have become free because Heavenly Father and Mother are free, so we can inherit the glorious kingdom of God.

The Passover that enables us to become God’s heirs

Eliezer and Ishmael, who were born of the slave women, could not inherit Abraham’s estate. This history of the Old Testament prophetically shows that those who are enslaved to sin and death can never inherit the kingdom of God. That is why God has given us freedom through the Passover of the new covenant and told us never to become slaves to sin and death again.

Gal 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

When the Israelites yearned for freedom from slavery in ancient Egypt, God sent the prophet Moses to let them celebrate the Passover. Before keeping the Passover, they were slaves, but after keeping it, they were set free.

What happened in the past is a shadow showing that people can be set free from slavery to sin and death through the Passover of the new covenant. We were slaves when we were bound by the chains of sin and death, but we have now received the forgiveness of sins and eternal freedom by keeping the Passover of the new covenant established by God.

Thanks to the new covenant—the law of freedom, we have thrown off the yoke of slavery and become God’s children who have God’s flesh and blood. God Himself testifies to this fact.

Ro 8:16–17 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

God acknowledges those who keep the new covenant as His children. Today, some people find their biological parents or children through DNA tests. Likewise, God distinguishes us as His own children by checking if we have His flesh and blood in us. Through the Passover, we have God’s holy flesh and blood in us, so we can call God Father and Mother.

God has established the Passover, which is a very important and precious law, to let us inherit His DNA. Jesus said He eagerly desired to eat the Passover. It’s because only those who partake of the Passover bread and wine representing Jesus’ flesh and blood for the forgiveness of sins can have eternal life and become God’s children who will inherit the kingdom of God.

Freeing humanity from the chains of sin and death

The Bible says that only the remnant will be saved in the last days, calling them God’s offspring. Ultimately, those who resemble God can be saved; they are the children of promise God has reserved on the earth.

Ro 9:27–29 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved. For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and finality.” It is just as Isaiah said previously: “Unless the Lord Almighty had left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah.”

Ro 9:7–13 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” In other words, it is not the natural children who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring . . .

Neither Eliezer nor Ishmael, but only Isaac was regarded as God’s offspring because his father and mother were both free. We, too, can become children of promise like Isaac and be acknowledged as God’s offspring because Heavenly Father and Mother are free.

We have been completely set free from the chains of sin and death and received eternal life through the Passover of the new covenant in Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother. We should proclaim freedom to those who are still bound by the law of sin and death. As the prophetic time has come, the Passover—the law of life—has been opened after about 1,600 years, and it is now being preached all over the world. Believing firmly that the gospel of the kingdom will be preached to all nations, as prophesied in the Bible, let us preach the Passover of the new covenant, the law of life, to even more souls. I earnestly ask all of you, children of promise, to open wide the way for them to receive salvation and eternal life by God’s grace.
