Dedication service for the Church of God in Gangbuk, Seoul, Korea

Another Zion, the place of God’s feasts, has been established by the grace of God in Mia-dong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul. That is the Gangbuk Church.

The new seven-story church building is situated in the middle of the Mia New Town Apartment Complex. Since it is beside a main street, it is easily found. And as the church is close to Mt. Bukhansan, it is quiet and clean, and the air is fresh. Its modern appearance catches people’s attention at the entrance of the apartment complex. It is said that even passersby are attracted by the impressive appearance and good manners of the church members and voluntarily visit the church. The church has a two-storied main worship hall with 400 seats, a fellowship room, an office, baptism rooms, a reception room, education rooms, multi-purpose rooms, a cafeteria, a parking lot and so on.

On the first day of October, the dedication service was held at 8 p.m. along with the Third-day service. During the service, Mother complimented all the members who made a great effort for the construction of the temple, and all the members around the world who preached the gospel fervently. Mother earnestly prayed that all the members would receive abundant blessings through the coming feasts, bear beautiful fruit, and have eternal life with which they can enter the glorious kingdom of heaven.

General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol enlightened on the mission of the church through the sermon titled, “The Heavenly Growth Rings” Pastor Kim said, “The trees that overcame all hardships in a cold and poor environments have clear growth rings, and their quality is good. However, it is hard to find growth rings from the trees that grew in warm and good environments with no big difficulties. Likewise, the members who overcome all their hardships leave their trace in their spiritual growth rings. God will fairly examine who are worthy to receive the heavenly crown, through their spiritual growth rings.” After that, he asked the members to obey the words of God, and make their spiritual growth rings clear by carrying out the mission to lead many people into the arms of God and guide all of them to receive the heavenly crowns.

The members who had the dedication service in the new temple were deeply moved. From students to adult members, they had participated in the construction of the temple since the end of June. Despite hot weather, they cleaned the temple with all their heart and strength; no member neglected even a trivial thing at the thought that it is the temple where God dwells.

The members revealed their ambitions, saying, “As it is a new town, the population is increasing greatly. We’ll deliver Mother’s love to those who have not known Mother yet, and make this town ‘New Town of the Gospel.’ This is our dream and wish.” And they added, “We’d like to repay Elohim for Their love even a little bit by delivering Mother’s love to our missing brothers and sisters and fi lling this Zion with Mother’s children who yearn for Her warm arms.”
