On July 30th, the dedication service for the Gimpo Church was held at 8 p.m. along with the Third-day service at the new temple located in Bukbyeon-dong, Gimpo City. The dedicated temple is an L-shaped building with two floors above ground and one underground. The exterior of the building catches the attention of people because it is brightly colored in beige and gold and has smooth edges. In front of the building, there are a neat little garden and some street lamps around the parking lot, which creates a cozy atmosphere. The interior looks clean and bright in an ivory color. In the temple, there are the main worship hall, a fellowship room, a multi-purpose room, an audio-visual room, an office, many education rooms and so on.
Mother participated in the dedication service and offered a prayer to God the Father who blessed the members with the dedication of the new temple, and gave spiritual blessings to the members who were there as well as all the members throughout the world. Mother asked Father in prayer that the new temple would be filled with people who would reveal God’s glory, in other words, spiritual “wheat,” and that the light of God’s glory would shine brightly. Mother complimented the members who made efforts to dedicate the new temple with one mind, and shared Her joy with the members. ⓒ 2013 WATV
General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol reminded the members of the fact that the Gimpo plains used to be the granary that provided food to the capital area, and hoped that the Gimpo Zion would become the heavenly barn filled with wheat. Through the sermon that continued, Pastor Kim Joo-cheol passed along a request, saying, “As all the process during the growth of a tree is recorded in its growth rings, all the deeds of the members in the gospel are recorded in the spiritual growth rings that are seen by God at every moment. As the heavenly people, let us have beautiful growth rings by serving and leading one another to heaven with beautiful words and deeds, and by observing God’s words with joy and thanksgiving.”
The members of the Gimpo Church gave thanks and glory to God who granted them overflowing blessings, and made a resolution, saying, “By obeying Mother’s words of love and doing our best in saving souls, we will make growth rings that please God.” A church member who lives in a nearby apartment building said, “I was very excited to see through the window the temple become beautiful day after day, and my neighbors were also pleased to see such a beautiful church. I am praying that I will be able to share God’s love with my neighbors.”
Overseer Pastor Song Hyeong-cheol spoke of his aspiration for the gospel, saying, “The city of Gimpo, as an old city, is a limited development district, so it looked somewhat dark. But many residents say that as our new temple has been established, it upgrades the level of the area with a bright and clean atmosphere. We will try hard to become a church that unites by serving each other and also shines the glory of God brightly by practicing Mother’s teachings.”
