On February 22, when the new semester was just around the corner, the “2009 Scholarship and Grant Awards Ceremony” was held at the New Jerusalem Temple for the students who are growing up right in the love of God Elohim, like fresh shoots in spring. The ceremony was attended by 80 middle and high school students, 61 new students and 100 parents; they gave thanks to God and renewed their determination toward God.
Before the awards ceremony,
Mother told the students to inscribe God’s words of life deeply in their hearts and to fulfill their big dreams for the future, and asked them to display God’s glory with their good deeds and words. She also planted a dream for the gospel and the courage of faith in their hearts by saying, “Bear abundant fruit which God is most pleased with, so that you will inherit the infinite universe in heaven” (Mt 5:15-16; Lk 15:3-7).

General Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim reminded the students that it is their duty as students to obey their parents, study hard and train themselves in the word of truth. In addition, he expressed his wish for the students, saying, “Please be proud of the fact that you are all student prophets who will fulfill the prophecies of God, and behave well at school as well as at Church, as the chil-dren of light who guide the world to the right path (Dt 28:1-13).
At the awards ceremony, Mother conferred the scholarship and grant certificates to a represen-tative of the middle and high school students and to a representative of the new students as well. She encouraged the students studying hard. After the ceremony, the students showed their determination by saying, “We would like to display God’s glory to our teachers and friends all the more and repay God Elohim for the blessings They’ve bestowed on us, by studying harder and through our good words and deeds worthy of God’s children.” The new students, who were preparing to enter middle and high school with excitement and anticipation, said with big smiles on their faces, “It is necessary that we should study hard, and we are anxious to boast about the truth to our new friends as soon as possible.”
