Future meets future. Jerome C. Glenn, the CEO of The Millennium Project, visited Korea and had a meeting with ASEZ under the subject, “Seeking the Role of University Students for a Sustainable Future,” at the New Jerusalem Pangyo Temple on June 26, 2019.
The Church of God is running the International Worker Bible Academy [IWBA] to help young adult workers spend the prime time of their life in an energetic and rewarding way on the basis of the right faith and values. On June 16, the IWBA Entrance Ceremony 2019 was held at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute. It was attended by more than 6,500 people including freshmen, registered members, teachers for young adults, and the Korean pastoral staff.
According to Jesus’ command, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” (Mk 16:15), the Church of God members, who are carrying out the movement to preach to seven billion people, celebrated the Ascension Day (May 30, 2019) and participated in the Sacred Assembly of the Day of Pentecost (June 9, 2019).
An event was held for the members who were preparing for the overseas preaching to keep pace with the mission of preaching to seven billion people. It was the 16th Foreign Language Bible Preaching Contest held at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute on May 26, 2019.
On May 24, 2019, Arise & Shine Global Bible Seminar 2019 was held at the New Jerusalem Pangyo Temple. It was the third seminar of the year, and aimed to inspire with true faith not only the Church of God members, but also the citizens who are curious about the authenticity of the Bible, the existence of God, and the solution to salvation. The seminar draws more attention from people whenever it is held.
The 74th Overseas Visiting Group and young adult members from the capital region of Korea attended the Global Conference to Accomplish the Movement to Preach to Seven Billion People held at the New Jerusalem Pangyo Temple on May 20, 2019.
On May 20, 2019, the 74th Overseas Visiting Group members from various parts of the world flew along like doves to their nests, and were carried in the arms of the New Jerusalem, according to the prophecy of the Bible. The visiting group consisted of 93 members from over 70 Churches of God in 17 countries, including Germany, Spain, Bulgaria, the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and New Zealand. Two-thirds of them visited Korea for the first time.
On May 12, 2019, the Mandaluyong Church in the Philippines held a consolatory party for families, celebrating Mother’s Day. We aimed to restore family bond because family members have less and less time to gather due to their busy schedules in this fast-paced industrial age. About 120 family members and relatives of the church members, who hadn’t had many chances to meet each other, came for the party and spent a meaningful time together.
The Arise & Shine Global Bible Seminar 2019 was held at the New Jerusalem Pangyo Temple in the afternoon on April 29, the day after the Happy Church Global Conference. A Bible seminar was previously held, where some men pastoral staff were the presenters. This Bible seminar was for women pastoral staff, where eight members from the U.S., Peru, Ecuador, India, and South Africa went on stage to presentations.
On April 28, 2019, the ASEZ Future Leader Forum was held at the Church of God in Newport News, VA, U.S. The purpose of the forum was to nurture university students as the future leaders in reducing and preventing crimes and to develop plans to encourage the participation of citizens.
